What We Are Looking For:
The role of Regional Lead Distribution Line Design is not just a job; it's a key part of our success. By fostering strong client relationships within a designated region and providing guidance and support to fellow professionals, both directly and indirectly, you will be instrumental in our collective achievements. This position requires not only technical expertise in distribution line design but also strong leadership skills to effectively mentor and motivate colleagues. By maximizing client relationships and offering leadership within the team, the Regional Lead plays a pivotal role in driving success and innovation in distribution line design projects.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Manage the relationship of assigned electric utility clients within the region on behalf of all PSE practice areas.
- Develop new regional electric utility client relationships on behalf of all PSE practice areas. Assist with business development activities, including marketing visits to prospective clients.
- Assist in leading a team of professional colleagues (both direct and indirect reports) and direct efforts in providing distribution line design services.
- Actively participate in utility client projects via project manager, engineering consultant, technical review person, or senior technical support with the intent of maintaining a 70% utilization rate
- Direct, coordinate, and carry out field staking and design of electrical distribution systems.
- Support distribution line design services in accordance with industry standards and established PSE guidelines, including but not limited to the following: field staking, staking sheet development, bidding and procurement, contract preparation, construction management, and support.
- Direct, coordinate, and carry out daily operational and engineering support to electric utility clients in the region.
- Employ strong project management and client and vendor relationship-building.
- Work with utility client management and staff to understand the scope of work and any concerns.
- Be responsible for quality control and technical review of projects and the work of others.
- Provide direct feedback to PSE's executive team and carry out company-wide initiatives.
- Work closely with all PSE departments to meet regional electric utility clients' needs.
- Provide overall leadership, guidance, and mentorship to all team members and promote and advance the positive work environment required of a successful professional engineering and consulting firm.
- Represent PSE at industry conferences by presenting technical topics and staffing an exhibition booth.
- Assist with recruiting new team members who fit PSE's needs and culture.
- Assist with the development of new service offerings that provide benefits to both existing and prospective clients.
- Provide general leadership within the company by taking the initiative and building effective teams and relationships among all departments.
- Work cooperatively with other PSE team members to improve our efficiencies and work product.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- The candidate must have a high school diploma. An associate degree is preferred.
- The candidate must have at least five years of relevant experience in utility line design, surveying, or relevant line construction work.
- The candidate must have specific experience leading and directing a team of technical professionals and managing technical projects.
- Previous experience in an engineering consulting role is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills
- The candidate shall be self-motivated and have experience in power system design and operations.
- Working knowledge of applicable RUS, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards is highly preferred.
- Use effective communication skills (both written and oral), be customer-driven, and display teamwork behavior.
- Possess a high level of interpersonal, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.
- Ability to continually identify and recommend process and system improvements to facilitate efficiencies.
