OMNIVISION Technologies is the leading supplier of CMOS imaging solutions for automotive camera systems with a proven track record of delivering innovative imaging solutions that meet and exceed the unique requirements of the automotive industry.
As the OEM Business Development Manager you will be responsible for growing our business with the automotive OEMs in North America (mainly Detroit Area). You will be expected to support existing business, identify and win new projects, and develop relationships.

Responsibilities
- Drive business development, sales and design-ins at the automotive OEMs in North American through a strong technical and commercial partnership, with the support of OMNIVISION engineering and sales teams.
- Understand future requirements of the automotive OEMs and communicate them to the OMNIVISION organization to ensure our roadmaps meet the customer needs. You should be able to identify customer needs as well as areas for potential innovations.
- Clearly articulate the benefits of OMNIVISION products in order to promote them to the customers and position them favorably for upcoming projects.
- Work with customers during the project specification phase in order to ensure OMNIVISION products fit well into the required system architecture.
- Coordinate RFI / RFQ responses at the global Tier 1s through collaboration with the OMNIVISION worldwide sales teams.
- Solve customer concerns quickly and efficiently, supporting both existing mass production projects as well as new project launches.
- Build relationships at multiple levels within the OEM customers from engineering to purchasing and executives. As part of this you should co-ordinate key meetings with OMNIVISION executives.
- Develop and document a strategy for growth
- Negotiate pricing and contracts
- Provide analysis of the North America automotive market analysis (e.g. TAM/SAM, forecasting)
- Stay abreast of technology trends in the automotive camera market and share this knowledge within OMNIVISION.
- Network within the industry and build relationships.
- Support trade-shows.
- Local travel expected on a regular basis. 10% domestic or overseas
Experience /Skills-
- Strong technical background with 5+ years of Electronics or Camera Development experience.
- Experience in the Automotive market and/or Image sensor/ Optics (or closely related) fields.
- Degree level qualifications in Electronics Engineering, optics or closely related subject
- 5+ years of experience in a sales, marketing or applications engineering role
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
- Excellent writing and technical reporting skills such as short/mid/long term opportunities
- Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of an organization
- Ability to network within the electronics and automotive industry and build relationships
