With over 500 retail locations, Mavis is the one of the largest independently-held tire sales and automotive repair chain in the United States.

About the Position of Assistant Project Manager

 As a member of the Construction Team within the Real Estate Department and reporting to the Project Manager/Store Planner, the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager/Store Planner and Project Directors in the planning and administrative management for new stores, remodels and renovations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter willing to take ownership of and oversee to completion projects, and has a desire to grow their career and advance within the Company.

 Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project/Construction Management or related field
• One to three years' professional experience. Qualified graduates entering the workforce directly from college will also be considered
• Knowledge of construction project management, compliance monitoring, and budgeting and scheduling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to work in CAD software required
• 3-D modeling software and/or Photoshop experience a plus
• Ability to manage multiple tasks involving complex and varying problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager/Store Planner be creating site plans and store designs for new stores and remodels
• Assist the Project Directors in opening retail locations
• Create CAD layouts/floor plans for new store locations and current store remodels and renovations
• Verifying accuracy of project plans and equipment layouts
• Review architectural and civil engineering plans
• Research and obtain information for entitlement processes within municipalities
• Generate reports and final checklists as directed
• Support the Project Manager/Store Planner and Project Directors with timelines, scheduling, budgeting, project documentation and project delivery
• Assist in sourcing vendors, materials and store fixtures
• Create and maintain a library of vendor pricing and store design data
• Develop skills and knowledge to progress towards Project Manager
