Responsibilities:The Automation Technician maintains, configures, and troubleshoots Distributive Control and Safety Instrumented systems in support of safe, reliable operation of gas processing plants. The qualified candidate must possess and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and environmental policies. Communication with operations, I&E, maintenance, measurement, and engineering groups is crucial to successfully executing the duties of this position.
- Diagnose and maintain control system hardware and software
- Support Microsoft Windows 2016 and Microsoft Server 2016 Operating Systems or newer and related hardware. All within a Microsoft Domain environment
- Maintain documentation of control system as well as OT and optical fiber networks
- Troubleshoot any control issues and implement corrective actions
- Assist with the design and installation of new plant automation equipment
- Assist with planning, installation, and maintenance of all processing equipment within the facilities
- Consult with vendors in the development of new\upgraded equipment for plant automation systems
- Maintain robust OT security and redundancy for Plant Control Networks
- Provide accurate and timely information for all types of process equipment to maximize the profitability of plant operations
- Assist in cost control of Plant Control System and OT Network maintenance
- Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot Distributive Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and/or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs.
- Support ongoing maintenance, repairs and calibration of online chromatography and sample systems associated with natural gas processing and fractionation.
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Minimum 5 years related DCS/SIS or PLC experience, required
- Full understanding of I&E work and its relationship with other areas of operations, required
- Honeywell Experion and C-300 Controller and Honeywell Safety Manager experience, preferred
- Ability to read and understand P&ID’s, electrical one-line diagrams and other complex drawings. Able to accurately red-line changes to drawings
- Familiar with requirements related to Process Safety Management and able to perform functions necessary to implement changes to systems and maintain documentation in compliance with these requirements
- Knowledge and experience with chromatography, preferred
- Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage time when given multiple tasks
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner is required
- Able to work overtime and respond to emergencies
- Ability to meet regulatory testing requirements with all pertinent equipment as needed
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and is subject to random DOT drug testing
- Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs
- Capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, walking on catwalks, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions
