CTG is seeking to fill an Automation Engineer (Application Packager) opening for our client in New York.
Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months
Overview:
In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for the automation of software installations to all endpoints throughout the bank. This includes Laptops, Desktops, Tablets, Servers and Virtual devices as well as the Operating Systems used in the environment. Through standardized methods and tools, this team provides a stable endpoint environment for user’s applications.
The ideal candidate will bring an understanding of basic Software Automation processes and techniques as well as an ability to facilitate effective communication and collaboration with other internal technical teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor the Jira board for packaging requests and ensure requirements are complete.
- Conduct smoke testing of applications to determine the best packaging method.
- Automate installation processes and test them through SCCM to prepare applications for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Provide technical assistance to the M&T Desktop Engineering Team on application packaging and delivery.
- Support SCCM Operations with high-level technical assistance.
- Collaborate with the Packaging Team to develop processes as M&T Bank transitions to Microsoft Intune.
- Help create a remediation process for application vulnerabilities.
- Work on further automating the packaging processes and support MAC OS packaging efforts.
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum of an Associate's degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the following automaton tools and Operating Systems are mandatory:
Microsoft SCCM as it pertains to software delivery and monitoring, Installshield, Powershell, PSAppDeploy Toolkit (PSADT) - Knowledge on Windows 10 & Windows 11 as well as Microsoft Windows Server.
- Other tools such as Intune and VB Script are highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of MAC OS is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50/hour to $74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
