About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and maintain vehicle functionality by following repair orders or leader instructions.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural malfunctions.
- Perform auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and refinishing.
- Operate and maintain tools such as spray guns, body hammers, and alignment systems.
- Read, interpret, and execute service and repair procedures with precision.
- Maintain detailed records of service, repairs, and auto body work performed.
- Ensure shop equipment operates optimally through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workshop.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of professional experience as an automotive mechanic or auto body technician.
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly, electrical diagnostics, and body repair techniques.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in auto body work and shop environments.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possess a personal set of tools with a rolling toolbox.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Strong comprehension of written procedures and ability to execute them effectively.
Preferred:
- Certification in Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, or a related field.
- ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) Certification(s).
- State-specific mechanic or auto body repair certifications.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Expertise in vehicle alignments, A/C system repairs, refinishing, and structural alignment.
