Audit Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of tax and accounting services to clients, while managing a team of Staff and Senior Accountants. You will have direct responsibility for developing and maintaining quality relationships with the firm’s clients. You will work closely with the partners and Office Managing Partner to increase efficiencies, develop and train the firm’s staff, and improve earnings. In addition, you will have the opportunity to play a key role on the firm’s Leadership Committee, suggesting and working on initiatives to ensure that we continue to have a thriving firm with a vibrant and inclusive culture. You will utilize and build your technical and personal skills in a collaborative working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage client relationships and work closely with partners in servicing clients
- Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
- Participate in networking and other business development opportunities to develop new clients
- Manage multiple tax and audit engagements, including the scheduling, staffing, supervision, and timely completion of each engagement
- Efficiently use available resources to meet deadlines and balance workloads
- Develop staff through training, mentoring and coaching
- Assume billing responsibilities for assigned clients
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
As a Manager, having the following knowledge, skills and abilities will give you the best chance to succeed in this position:
- High proficiency in performing accounting and tax engagements
- High proficiency in tax research, and solid understanding of Internal Revenue Code sections, and state and local regulations
- Technical proficiency and solid experience supervising complete engagements, and the ability to manage client relationships
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the use of firm standard software, such as Lacerte, ProSystems FX, Excel,
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A focus on client service, with a specific emphasis on tax planning and compliance for individuals and entities
- Ability to work effectively with partners and clients to maintain high client service levels while simultaneously identifying additional client service opportunities
- Interest in participating in firm-wide initiatives to improve the client experience, build a rewarding culture for our employees, and serve our local communities
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to manage a wide variety of multiple projects, assignments and deadlines, and to delegate effectively
- Strong experience in managing and developing others
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To be considered as a Manager you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major or concentration in accounting, tax, or related field
- Master’s in Accounting, actively working toward a Master’s degree, or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience with a public accounting firm
- Hold a current and valid CPA license
- Applicant will be required to submit to a criminal background check upon receipt of a conditional offer
