Summary:
The Audio-Visual (AV) Technician provides direct customer service and technical support for end-user computing environment. Demonstrates a working knowledge of best practices and follows documented processes and procedures in facilitation of service recovery, refresh, maintenance, moves and related project activities. Effectively collaborate with peers, vendors, and customers to maintain and troubleshoot audio-visual systems ensuring optimum performance. This position requires a broad range of experience and expertise in hardware, software, operating system and network troubleshooting as well as verbal, written and multi-tasking skills. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in troubleshooting, testing, repairing and servicing AV equipment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting.
• Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines, and minimal supervision.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
• Ability to work some nights and weekends and on call as required
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communications skills, and ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service
• Proficiency in video conferencing platforms like Webex, Zoom and MS Teams.
• Familiarity with Crestron control systems
• Knowledge of microphones and the difference between dynamic and condensers.
• Familiarity with different display technologies and the various types of connections.
• Knowledge of the importance of gain as it relates to volume and know how to avoid feedback.
• Knowledge of AV processors and their functions.
• Familiarity with various AV setups and scenarios.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science.
• ITIL framework
• Network• Security• A+ Certification
• Experience working for a hospital or clinic that utilize Epic
• Experience using ticket tracking systems
• Provide Project Management on approved Departmental Information Service initiatives
Physical Demands:
• Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day in all weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting 75lbs

Responsibilities:
1. Provides customer support and incident remediation both on-site and via remote access.
2. Effectively coordinates support tasks and activities in accordance with customer’s schedule.
3. Transport, assemble, maintain and repair AV equipment used in classrooms, conference rooms and office spaces.
4. Set up, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot teleconferencing equipment, multimedia devices, televisions, monitors, projectors, recording equipment, speaker sets, digital cameras/camcorders, and other presentation equipment.
5. Operate and troubleshoot all audio-visual equipment and related software available to Rush staff.
6. Respond effectively to urgent and emergency situations.
7. Contributes to electronic knowledgebase and documents procedures.
8. Keeps management informed of trends, significant problems, and expected delays.
9. Keeps customers informed of progress on problems that cannot be resolved in a timely manner.
10. Stays informed of technology advancements, especially those that will assist with providing quality support of customers.
11. Assists in projects as needed at all Rush locations (Copley, Oak Park, Remote, etc.)
12. Provide on call support when needed outside of normal work hours.
13. Create tickets utilizing Service Now system to record and track work progress. Document in detail all issues and resolution steps in order to route or close tickets.
14. Other duties as assigned.
