The Animal Birth Control Clinic of Pet Refuge, located in South Bend, Indiana is seeking an associate veterinarian to operate in their high quality, high volume, spay neuter clinic and our adjacent no-kill animal shelter, Pet Refuge. The ABC Clinic is dedicated to providing affordable services to dogs and cats of the Michiana area, serving individually-owned animals as well as nearly all locally-recognized rescue organizations, feral cat groups, and shelters for their spay/neuter needs. We operate under a strict set of surgical guidelines for spay and neuter surgery designated by ASPCA"s Humane Alliance.
Ultimately, after training and mentorship, we expect our doctors to be able to comfortably perform 30-35 surgeries per day when at the spay/neuter clinic. The clinic is open Monday through Friday only and the applicant will be expected to work an average of 2 days per week alongside two other veterinarians.
South Bend, located on the northern border of Indiana, is home to the beautiful University of Notre Dame and is only a short distance away from the beaches of Lake Michigan and a quick drive or train ride from Chicago. Applicant must hold a doctorate of veterinary medicine from an accredited university of school of veterinary medicine. Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Indiana. An appreciation for the mission of population management is a must. Individuals with experience in a shelter or fast-paced clinic setting are encouraged to apply. New graduates welcome to apply.
