Associate Scientist - Aquinas Consulting

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Associate Scientist job. In this role, you will support the operational scale-up of pilot-scale manufacturing processes for biotherapeutic candidates. You will collaborate with Pilot Plant Operations and Process Development teams, assisting in upstream and downstream operations and contributing to laboratory management.

Associate Scientist job Responsibilities:

• Support pilot-scale operations with bioreactors up to 500L, including upstream mammalian cell culture, downstream purification, and buffer preparation.
• Assist in laboratory management tasks, including equipment maintenance, setup, and cleanup.
• Document results in electronic notebooks, paper forms, and technical reports.
• Be available for standard working hours and occasional after-hours, shift, or weekend work as needed.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience.
• Proficiency in following laboratory and manufacturing operating and safety procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform laboratory tasks requiring lifting up to 30 lbs and working around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in biologics manufacturing or research, particularly in mammalian cell culture.
• Basic laboratory skills, including pipetting, volumetric measurements, weighing, and pH/conductivity measurements.
