Associate Project Manager – Broadband/Underground Utilities (HGA-R) - HGA Integrated Services

About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Project Manager to join our broadband and underground utility design team. This role supports the planning, design, and implementation of broadband infrastructure and underground utility projects. Working closely with senior managers, engineers, and external stakeholders, the Associate Project Manager will contribute to delivering projects that enhance critical infrastructure and connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform prescribed tasks related to broadband and underground utility design projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in project planning and execution, including budgeting, scheduling, manpower allocation, and project forecasting.
• Collaborate with Senior Project Managers to manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables for underground utility systems, including fiber optics and other broadband infrastructure.
• Independently oversee smaller projects or specific project components with minimal supervision.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to broadband and underground utilities.
• Track project milestones, prepare progress reports, and identify risks and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, CAD designers, and construction crews, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor staffing and resource allocation to align with project budgets and schedules.
• Recommend team adjustments and contribute to establishing performance benchmarks and work group policies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of project management experience, particularly in broadband infrastructure or underground utility design preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility design tools and software, such as GIS mapping, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.
• Understanding of broadband and utility design standards, including trenchless technologies, utility coordination, and permitting requirements.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to handle competing priorities.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and familiarity with fiber network design software is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams and external partners.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP or CAPM) is advantageous but not required.
• Candidates must be located within daily commuting distance of Ruston, LA; Hattiesburg, MS; Baton Rouge, LA; Shreveport, LA or Lake Charles, LA.
Work Environment:
This role involves a combination of office-based design and project management tasks, with occasional site visits to assess project conditions and oversee implementation. Travel may be required based on project locations.
