Major/Essential Functions
Duties include: Manage all Clinical Application project activities, including database maintenance and programming of the Centricity Electronic Medical Record system, Cerner Electronic Medical Record system, axiUm Medical Record system, Enterprise Data Warehouse, eLentra, eLentra data warehouse and related applications and subordinate programmers, and database administrators; Manage and coordinate all projects, timelines and milestones supporting the Centricity, Cerner and axiUm Electronic Medical Records, eLentra, eLentra data warehouse and Enterprise Data Warehouse and all other integrated applications; Track and supervise all work and progress on projects in the database engineering, programming, webmaster, and interface engineering areas, and provide weekly progress reports to the Information Management Systems Department Managing Director; Oversee and direct academic and enterprise solutions programmers; Provide technical guidance and implementation support for academic applications (CHAMP, eLentra, Canvas, etc. and related academic applications); Track and supervise progress on projects, development of automated software/programs, and creation of associated documentation; Ensure TTUHSC-El Paso website requests are completed in collaboration with Institutional Advancement; Ensure the infrastructure to support local websites is updated; Responsible for assisting in and overseeing the analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of health informatics systems/applications; Work closely with the clinical, technical and operational teams and leadership to ensure that all technology solutions align with goals and enhance patient care safety, and efficiency; Analyze the evaluation of informatics systems and applications to provide better performance and an enhanced user experience; Review and analyze information to support leadership in making informed IT-related decisions; Provide supervision, guidance and feedback to clinical informatics team members as needed; Manage and direct the Informatics team's activities for advanced healthcare analytics and reporting utilizing data from claims, clinical repositories, financial reports, patient, provider and practice lists, and other internal and external databases; Develop, implement, and maintain informatics solutions including Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other clinical software solutions; Work collaboratively with institutional teams and leaders to align information technology use with best practices for improved clinical outcomes; Facilitate the development and maintenance of clinical data standards and workflows to ensure data accuracy and completeness; Develop and maintain informatics governance policies and procedures; Ensure the team is providing quality support and troubleshooting of clinical informatics applications and systems to clinicians, other hospital support staff and hospital leadership; Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to clinical informatics; Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Requires 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar computer systems role. Requires one year of experience implementing or supporting healthcare systems. Also requires experience with each of the following: MS SQL Server 2014 Administration or higher; Oracle DB Administration 12c or higher; Window and Linux platforms; JavaScript, AJAX, LINQ, Entity Framework, MVC/MVVM Design Patterns, and API; electronic medical record systems; and clinical/medical information systems.
