Arc70 manages over $4.5 billion in affordable housing related investments and works with notable and sophisticated long-term investors.
Arc70 is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team. The position will report to the Director of Legal and requires a skilled and well-rounded individual who can support the firm on a broad range of affordable housing real estate matters. The ideal candidate will have an interest and passion for understanding Arc70’s business and will grow into an in-house legal leader, contributing in a meaningful way to the firm’s long-term strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary legal support in all legal aspects of the structuring and closing of complex affordable housing projects
- Provide legal guidance on business transactions, litigation, and private fund matters
- Draft, review, and/or negotiate a broad range of documents, including term sheets, bond and derivative documentation, private fund documents, loan documents, engagement letters, third-party contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other documents relevant to Arc70’s business activities
- Assist with lending negotiations and documentation
- Oversee and work with outside counsel to ensure appropriate deal structures are utilized to achieve long-term commercial and strategic goals
- Communicate and coordinate matters with the Arc70 team
- Perform other duties as needed to support Arc70’s business operations
Qualifications
- Doctor of Law (J.D) from an accredited law school
- Bar admission required
- 3+ years of experience practicing as a real estate transactional attorney with affordable housing, private fund formation, or in-house counsel
- Experience with most or all of the following: low-income tax credits, affordable housing financings, deal structuring, real estate, and generate corporate matters
- Strong analytical skills for legal issues, business risk, and deal economics
- Entrepreneurial mindset
