Description
The Role:
We are looking for a Associate Director of New Product Planning responsible for evaluating new indications and development opportunities, monitoring the competitive landscape around pipeline assets, and assisting in the assessment and forecasting of potential new assets. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to analyze and prioritize target markets, future treatment paradigms, competitive landscapes, unmet needs, product positioning, and value proposition, making recommendations regarding market fit and potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate potential new development opportunities to determine market fit and potential, employing market research, customer round tables, and other market evaluation tools in support of the clinical and commercial development of new indications for current pipeline agents.
- Co-ordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Med Affairs, Clinical and Commercial, etc.) on competitive intelligence monitoring for pipeline programs
- Gather competitive intelligence and derive implications for clinical and commercial product development, market positioning, and lifecycle management.
- Key contributor to new product planning efforts, including global market assessment, revenue forecasting, competitive analysis, and target product profile development.
- Identify and evaluate candidate partner organizations to target for licensing deals for the company's product programs and develop partner-specific strategies.
- Support landscape assessments to support the evaluation of external licensing deals for product candidates through the development of product forecasts that incorporate future treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, unmet need, product positioning, and value proposition
- Partner in the evaluation of external licensing deals for product candidates
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
- BA/BS in life sciences required. An advanced scientific degree is ideal, but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in oncology commercial assessments, business development, commercial forecasting, or new product planning role within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Significant experience in conducting commercial assessments and market research to create valuation models that reflect thoughtful and efficient product development and commercialization in oncology
- Success in maximizing the growth of a product portfolio and optimizing the potential of pipeline products and new indications.
- A strong background in oncology marketing research with the ability to apply learnings to strategy development to address and stay current with evolving market opportunities
The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $185,000-$210,000.
