Position Summary
The School of Professional Studies is seeking an Associate Director of Communications and Engagement in the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS). The Associate Director serves as the EMSS division’s communications point of contact, writing and editing content for prospective and current EMSS students, managing communications calendars, and encouraging innovation in all communications efforts, including social media, website, and email campaigns. They also plan and oversee the execution of major events, including Orientation and Commencement. The Associate Director leverages project management techniques to optimize events and communications functions throughout the unit, ensuring high quality and adherence to deadlines. This position supervises two staff members and liaises with stakeholders across EMSS, SPS, and NYU on cross-functional events and communications projects.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:5+ years Developing marketing and communication planning and executing events, and supervising staff in a nonprofit or higher education environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Experience:Experience with Slate (or similar higher education-focused CRM) and Asana (or similar project management tool) and experience in a large organization or University environment.strongly preferredRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent writing and editing skills. Expertise in strategy and management of social media, website content, and email campaigns. Experience managing large-scale events. Knowledge of the student life-cycle, from prospective student to graduate. Familiarity with CRM platforms. Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize tasks efficiently, and adapt based on new information or changing contexts. Superior planning and organizational skills. Capable of working independently and across diverse student populations, institutional offices and vendors, and professional organizations and associations. Some evening and weekend work is required. Some travel may be required. Supervisory experience required.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
