We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and highly skilled Permanent Associate Attorney to join our thriving legal team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex and challenging legal cases, providing legal advice and representation to our esteemed clients. The successful candidate will have an extensive background in civil defense and a strong understanding of all aspects of litigation. This includes drafting, pleadings, motions, court filings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, conducting legal research, and providing sound legal advice to our clients. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Representing clients in court, before government agencies, or in private legal matters.
2. Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception to resolution, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
3. Conducting research and analysis of legal problems.
4. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
5. Presenting facts in writing and verbally to their clients or others, and argue on their behalf.
6. Preparing legal memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents as needed for court proceedings and negotiations..
7. Engaging in negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations to resolve disputes out of court.
8. Participating in depositions and court hearings, presenting evidence and arguments as required.
9. Preparing legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
10. Managing and organizing large volumes of complex documents; preparing and managing discovery.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 2+ years of experience as an attorney, with a strong background in civil litigation and insurance defense.
3. Must be a member in good standing with the Texas state bar.
4. Proven experience with drafting, pleadings, motions, court filings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
5. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to think strategically and rapidly analyze and articulate legal issues to clients.
6. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships at all levels of the organization.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate persuasively.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and demonstrate a flexible approach to work in a fast-paced environment.
9. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
10. Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach for new ideas.
