Job Title: Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation Defense (Insurance Defense/Auto Accident Focus)
Compensation: $130,000 - $185,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Location: Newport Beach, CA (Hybrid: 2 Days Remote, 3 Days Onsite)
Overview:
Our well-established law firm specializing in civil litigation defense is seeking a knowledgeable Associate Attorney with 2 years experience to join our Newport Beach office. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil litigation defense, with a strong preference for experience in insurance defense and auto accident cases.
Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Independently handle all phases of civil litigation defense cases, including initial case assessment, discovery, pre-trial preparation, trial, and post-trial procedures.
- Insurance Defense: Represent clients in insurance defense cases, including auto accident claims, premises liability, and general liability matters.
- Discovery: Draft and respond to discovery requests, take and defend depositions, and manage document production.
- Legal Research & Writing: Prepare high-quality motions, pleadings, and other legal documents. Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and arguments.
- Court Representation: Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary, advocating for clients effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation defense, with a strong preference for insurance defense and/or auto accident cases.
- Proven track record of successfully handling cases through the litigation process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience attending and conducting mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Familiarity with insurance company guidelines and billing practices.
