Job Title: Weekend Housekeeper
Job Summary: The Weekend Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents and staff. This position focuses on maintaining the cleanliness of common areas, resident rooms, and facility spaces during weekend shifts. A strong attention to detail, time management, and a commitment to high cleanliness standards are essential. The housekeeper collaborates with other staff to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces in common areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms.
Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Ensure that all cleaning equipment is used and maintained safely and effectively.
Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and towels as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and cleaning standards, including proper use of cleaning agents and equipment.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
Follow infection control procedures to minimize the spread of illness and ensure a healthy environment.
Customer Service:
Interact with residents, families, and staff in a friendly and respectful manner.
Address any concerns or special cleaning requests promptly and professionally.
Contribute to a positive atmosphere by maintaining a welcoming and cheerful demeanor.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless operations during weekend shifts.
Assist with additional housekeeping tasks or facility needs as requested by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial work is an asset.
Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and safety protocols.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Capable of lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds.
Comfortable bending, stooping, and reaching as required for cleaning tasks.
