We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Superintendent with a background in Multi-Family or Single-Family Residential Construction to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced, rapidly growing local builder. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising all on-site construction, including scheduling subcontractors, resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Superintendent in managing all functions of the job site as it relates to home construction, including but not limited to scheduling and supervising job site.
2. Ensure job site adherence to the company safety and SWPPP standards, OSHA regulations, and other applicable state laws.
3. Coordinate and supervise the construction process from the conceptual development stage through final construction, ensuring the project is completed timely and within budget.
4. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
5. Oversee the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment; worker productivity and safety; and the quality of construction.
6. Assist in the resolution of design, plan, and spec issues prior to and during construction.
7. Communicate with homeowners and internal team members regarding the progress and scheduling of the homes.
8. Prepare, maintain, and update all paperwork necessary to ensure an efficient, safe work environment and meet deadlines as required.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Multi-Family or Single-Family Residential Construction.
2. Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, construction procedures, and rough trade work.
3. Familiarity with regulatory construction standards and OSHA compliance.
4. Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of decision-making and problem-solving capacity.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, homeowners, and subcontractors.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
7. Ability to read, understand and implement adjustments to architectural and structural blueprints, specifications, and sketches.
8. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
10. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
