Primary function to support the overall success of GV Destinations Restaurants and ensure that the highest quality standards are met for food, service, and cleanliness of all operations, as well as maximizing profits. Also, the ability to lead, manage and oversee the training, hiring, scheduling and managing process of new hires/current employees. This position Supports and takes direction from Outlet Managers
Typical day in the life as a Assistant Restaurant Manager:
- Manage and work shifts + events from start-finish in restaurant outlets as business demands require.
- Supervise the setup/teardown of the restaurant spaces, placements of tables, chairs, linens, place settings, centerpieces, etc.
- Visually inspect spaces and equipment prior to guest arrival to ensure world class standards are met.
- Support with scheduling and direct all service staff to optimize guest experience. Continuously evaluate teams’ performance and encourage improvement of the personnel within the diverse restaurant teams. Promote positive collaborative team environment within own team and across all departments.
- Hold staff accountable and follow through with appropriate timely action, as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of all facilities throughout duration of operations (restocking of bathrooms, floor/table cleanliness, etc).
- Coordinate timing of food services with the Chef, Event Coordinators and Managers as assigned.
- Plan and administer training and development programs within the department which will provide well trained employees at all levels.
- Implement effective control of food, beverage, and labor costs among all sub-departments.
- Participate with the Chef and GV Destinations Managers in the creation of menus and food and beverages enhancements.
- Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer acceptance of banquet and restaurant services offerings to maintain world class services.
- Cash accountability, event bar tracking accountability, comprehensive final bill review with coordinators to ensure billing accuracy.
- Orders, schedules, and receives deliveries of items (beverage, food items, linens, etc.) to meet the operational needs. Follow through with inventory and par levels.
- Participate in inventory management, reservation system management and other electronic platforms used to enhance the overall restaurant business.
- All additional duties as assigned by direct manager.
What are we looking for?
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Gervasi Management team from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the business.
- Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with GV Destination rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of restaurant facilities. Employees who violate company rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
