Pay Rate: $23.00/Hr.
This Assistant Residential Director is responsible for providing day-to-day services to program participants. In addition to providing direct care, this position facilitates the on-site training and supervision of staff, manages participants funds, and operational and staffing budgets. They provide assistance to appropriately plan and schedule staff and ensures that the participants social activities and community integration is meaningful and well planned. The Assistant Residential Director promotes compliance with medication management, day program, and community activities, using agency vehicle or personal vehicle as needed. This position works within a multidisciplinary team following all support plans, including behavior plans and is responsible for accurate documentation. The Assistant Residential Director provides leadership in the absence of the Residential Director.
Responsibilities:Assist the Residential Director with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the assigned residence including but not limited to:
Direct Care
- Provides direct support services to participants at least 32 hours per week, using this opportunity to model appropriate strategies to staff as well as on going learning opportunities.
- Ensure that all individuals are treated with respect, dignity and support to take as much control as possible over routine activities in their home.
- Teach, assist and support individuals in the community and at home so that the individual is able to learn, and master skills that enable them to enhance their status by assuming socially valued roles.
- Support each individual’s existing relationships and increase their networks of friends and acquaintances.
- Assist the individuals with household shopping and maintenance as necessary, providing ongoing opportunities for individuals to assume increasing control and responsibilities.
Staff Supervision and Program Leadership
- Assist with supervising staff directly and act as a team leader.
- Lead teams by example through role modeling and coaching.
- Facilitate innovative, constructive problem solving particularly in absence of the Residential Director
- Promote teamwork between all team members via open professional communication, sharing responsibilities and positive, constructive attitude.
- Ensures that transportation for clients occur using agency vehicle, or staff’s personal vehicle as needed, to and from appointments, day program, community activities, etc.
ISP and Care Plan Implementation
- Implement ISP/Support Plans and strategies as written and at frequency stated in the plan.
- Demonstrate accurate data collections procedures and consistent use of described support strategies that promote success.
- Monitor and maintain individual’s program book to ensure that data collection is accurate and complete
- Review data collection monthly and prepare written progress notes quarterly or at frequency stated in the ISP.
- Attend ISP meetings.
- Follow and model all routines of the individuals and home including, but not limited to, behavior support plans, nursing care plans, and therapeutic treatment plans (i.e., physical/occupational/speech/assistive technology).
- To assist in training staff in the implementation of intervention strategies and correct data collection procedures.
Crisis Management
- Responds effectively to potential safety hazards and emergencies. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment by being respectful of property and equipment. Follow proper maintenance and safety protocols.
- Contact supervisors as needed in the event of concerns and/or crises
- Models therapeutically appropriate support strategies.
Administrative Duties
- Assist in managing participants funds, operational budgets.
- Participate in Incident Review process as assigned.
- Ensure that billable services are accurately documented and reconciled by deadlines.
- Assists the Residential Director to appropriately plan and schedule staff, maintain staffing budgets and monitor services for the individuals.
- Assist to ensure all Rhode Island/Seven Hills policies and licensing regulations are being met within the program.
- Ensure that the union contract is followed.
- Participate in On Call responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining/tracking program staff required certifications
- Prior direct care experience strongly preferred.
- Basic computer literacy/proficiency
- Able to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally, visually, and in writing.
- Basic budgeting and mathematical skills.
- Proven ability to demonstrate tact, good judgment, and initiative in interactions with participants, peers, family members, the general public, and other stakeholders.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
- Associates degree preferred, High School diploma or equivalency required
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
