About the Job
A regional and national full-service Retail/Commercial Facility and Construction Management company located in Northern New Jersey, is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Part-Time (afternoons preferred) or Full-Time Assistant Project Manager to meet their growing demands! In this role, you will learn to understand the challenges professionals face when it comes to improving and/or maintaining their facilities and strive to accordingly provide the highest quality of service to our clients. The wide range of properties we work on includes retail, banking, office and commercial properties.
This position is usually fast-paced and detail orientated. You would be responsible for managing smaller jobs from dispatch to completion and assisting a Project Manager with larger scale projects.
Our clients expect work to be completed in a timely manner and done well. We strive to meet and even to exceed their expectations. Basic administrative duties and computer skills are required. Please be a team player that is also able to work independently.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will engage in a significant amount of communication with established and new vendors, as well as clients. It is beneficial that you are personable and comfortable communicating with people on the phone and through email.
Primary responsibilities for the Assistant Project Manager include:
- Assigning, dispatching and assuring completion of daily service calls
- Assisting in running and assuring completion of larger projects.
- Assigning, running and assuring completion of periodic roll-out projects
- Vendor contact and follow up
- Client contact and follow up
- Computer work: Internet searches, database entries, client portals, job updates
- Basic administrative duties/ office work
A professional, positive attitude is a must. Background in the construction industry is especially helpful, but willing to train the right person. Experience with the following also extremely helpful:
- Basic administrative duties/ office work
- Well developed working knowledge of Outlook & Word
- Some Excel spreadsheet development and usage
- Phone work/ internet searches
- Status updates / database entries
It is required that you:
- Be proficient in verbal communication and writing (job scopes, work orders, emails, etc.)
- Be able to multi-task with ease
- Be able to work independently as well as be a team player
