About the Job
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, mitigate construction risks, and keep them informed about project progress. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients by providing regular updates on construction status, scheduled site visits, delays, site access issues, required document lists, and report delivery dates.
- Collaborating with the team to prepare comprehensive Construction Risk Management (CRM) proposals and final invoices.
- Working on various commercial projects, including multi-family residential, office, hospitality, student housing, medical office, congregate care, retail, and distribution/warehousing.
- Reviewing construction documents for completeness and adherence to best practices.
- Coordinating with project managers and consultants to distribute checked-in documents and facilitate construction/renovation site visits.
- Demonstrating proficiency with industry-standard documents such as AIAG702/703 Pay Applications, lien waivers, Gantt schedules, change orders, RFI logs, buy-out logs, and stored material inventory logs.
- Utilizing software tools like Quire (report writing), Sessions (project tracking/invoices), and file-sharing platforms like FileShare, DropBox, Box.com, or similar client portals.
- Providing guidance and advice to clients, typically equity investors or construction lenders, on design, quality, constructability, completion, schedule, and cost risks.
- Maintaining regular client contact and communication through email, phone calls, and direct interactions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in construction administration, architecture, engineering, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of the entitlement/permitting process, construction delivery methods, and agreements.
- Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types.
