The Role
As the Assistant Program Director for Housing & Stabilization, you will play a key role in supervising and managing the Housing & Stabilization Department. You will provide management-level support to the Program Director and ensure the highest quality standards in client services and employee supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train Housing Specialists and other staff as directed by the Program Director.
- Ensure proper administration by setting goals, monitoring outcomes, and enforcing quality standards.
- Establish and maintain systems for effective and uniform client services and employee supervision.
- Communicate regularly with funders, State agencies, regulatory authorities, and community partners.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support and timely updates to the Program Director.
- Conduct team meetings, supervisions, performance evaluations, and other supervisory functions.
- Ensure compliance with contractually mandated paperwork and high standards of documentation.
- Maintain contact with the Facilities Department to ensure the habitability of Emergency Family Shelter Program units.
- Assist in various Human Resources functions and address client and staff grievances.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new and existing employees.
- Represent MHSA at meetings, trainings, hearings, and special events.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate degree and two years of relevant experience required; Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred.
- Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of MHSA, EOHLC, BHA, DCF, and other agency forms, procedures, and operations.
- Knowledge of homelessness issues and housing search.
- Experience with service agencies and resources for homeless families.
- Experience in contract management.
- Skills:
- Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
- Ability to work as part of a dynamic team and manage multiple tasks with a diverse population.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certified (MHSA will provide training opportunities).
- Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctual reporting for work.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Satisfactory CORI/SORI reports at all times while employed by MHSA.
