Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
+ Performance and interpretation of IBD-related endoscopic procedures:
+ Scientific research broadly focused on the human gastrointestinal tract, including but not limited to the basic molecular biology of the intestinal epithelium, the disease mechanisms of inflammatory bowel disease, and engineering of commensal/probiotic bacteria for treatment of gastrointestinal disorders
+ Preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication of research findings
+ Preparation and submission of grant proposals to various funding agencies (NIH, VA, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, etc.). Includes grant-adjacent duties such as progress report preparation and submission, grant budget management, and so forth
+ Presentation of research findings at local (CU/RMR VA), national, and international conferences
+ Instruction of graduate students on molecular biology and related topics -Mentorship of junior lab members
+ Manuscript peer reviewParticipate in citizen requirements of division and section including, but not limited to:
+ Teaching GI fellows on general GI and IBD consult services
+ Presenting at GI grand rounds
