Baltimore Country Club in Lutherville-Timonium, MD is looking to hire a Full-time, Assistant Manager of Outside Golf Operations to support our Outside Golf Services staff in creating memorable experiences for our members and their guests. Baltimore Country Club was founded in 1898 and it was a success from the start, with 600 members enjoying its 150-acre facility less than five miles from downtown Baltimore. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ASSISTANT MANAGER
Under the supervision of the Director of Outside Member Services, the Assistant Manager will be one of the Club's ambassadors to the game of golf at Baltimore Country Club! This individual will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of outside golf services including bag drop services, golf cart operation and maintenance, bag room services, and the practice areas. This position will also be responsible for scheduling, training and overseeing the outside golf services staff.
Other duties include performing daily outside golf operational activities including setting up, maintaining and cleaning up the practice areas, preparing for the arrival of golfers, cleaning equipment and assisting with the overall caddie program. The individual in this position will also be a point of contact with members and their guests assisting them with outside golf services and coordinating or facilitating other assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent degree, certification or related experience.
- A working knowledge of outside golf services and understanding of the game of golf is strongly preferred.
- Computer literacy in email and basic software programs related to reservations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be personable and enthusiastic and can effectively work as a team member and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to operate a golf cart, power washer and other outside golf services equipment effectively and safely.
- Requires a polished and professional demeanor in manner and appearance.
- Solid judgement, ability to anticipate, and skilled in multi-tasking at a high level.
- Excellent communication and member service skills.
- High attention for detail and great organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.
- Walking and standing for long periods of time is required, as well as ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and push/pull carts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Must be available to work up to a six-day work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Average hours worked each week to be approximately 45 hours.
