About The Position
Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun and professional Assistant Manager to help administer our music school in Needham, MA. The Assistant Manager will serve as a point of contact for our students, families, and teachers to ensure smooth functioning of our day-to-day operations.
The successful candidate has:
- strong interpersonal skills: small team (4+) management or medium-scale customer service (200+ clients)
- sales or advocacy training or background
- a background, degree, or strong interest in performing arts
General Job Responsibilities:
Daily Operational Support
- Supervising Staff: Managing, mentoring, and scheduling employees to ensure smooth workflow.
- Problem Solving: Addressing issues such as customer complaints, employee disputes, or operational challenges.
- Inventory Management: Supporting the General Manager with tracking supplies or product stock and placing orders as needed.
Team Management
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluating staff performance and providing feedback or corrective actions.
- Acting as a Liaison: Communicating policies, updates, and goals from upper management to the team.
Customer/Client Relations
- Ensuring Customer Satisfaction: Addressing and resolving escalated customer concerns or complaints.
- Building Relationships: Developing strong customer and vendor relationships to maintain growth in the lessons studio and with retail/rental customers.
Administrative Duties
- Reporting: Preparing reports on team performance, sales, or operations for upper management.
- Budget Oversight: Monitoring financials, such as sales figures and operational costs, to ensure alignment with goals.
- Policy Compliance: Ensuring all employees follow company policies, safety protocols, and legal regulations.
Strategic Support
- Planning: Assisting in developing strategies for improving operations or achieving business objectives.
- Goal Setting: Helping set and monitor short- and long-term goals for the team or department.
- Decision Making: Stepping in to make decisions in the absence of the manager.
