The Assistant Manager is responsible for the daily activities of the Swim Associates and adherence to Big Blue Swim School processes and procedures. The Assistant Manager is an effective communicator, great problem solver, and mentor to staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Readiness
- Communicate with parents/customers on a regular basis to provide appropriate swimmer progress and an exceptional customer service.
- Conduct daily monitoring and review of student progress, skill checks, and move-ups to ensure appropriate progression in lessons.
- Train front desk staff on various systems and best customer service practices.
- Provide outstanding customer experience and lead the conversion of trials to paid weekly lessons.
People Management
- Manage, Coach and instruct 20+ Swim Associates in providing safe and effective swim lessons.
- Ensure Swim Associates are adhering to Big Blue Swim School principles and curriculum.
- Conduct Monthly Swim Associate evaluations & 1:1 meetings with direct reports.
- Enforce all safety procedures and required certifications.
- Facilitate regular team trainings as needed.
Pool Maintenance
- Ensure efficient operations including cleanliness, water quality, and pump room as per Big Blue and State guidelines.
- Ensure compliance of staff to procedures required to maintain optimal pool performance
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide 25+ hours of in-water teaching per Quarter.
- Facilitate weekly 1:1 meetings with General Manager.
- Responsible for inventory and order management as needed.
- Conduct Swim Associate interviews as needed.
- Organize and plan staff outings with General Manager.
- Live, breathe, and represent the Big Blue Values.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Must possess the ability to communicate and respond to student and customer interactions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to regularly move throughout the facility to continuously interact with customers and staff.
- Must work at a minimum of 2 weekends per month.
- Must work in combination of afternoon/evening shifts.
- Must pass a background check.
- Lifeguard, CPR, CPO Certifications - Preferred.
- Impeccable attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly working in and around a pool environment including warm temperatures and wet conditions. Working with chemicals is a regular part of this job. The noise level in the work environment may be moderately loud. This job also works in a standard office environment.
