What You'll Do:
As the Assistant General Manager, you will help manage day-to-day operations, sales, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure that business objectives are achieved.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
- Assists the General Manager with day-to-day plant operations to maintain productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
- Assists in the implementation of operational improvements and best practices to ensure continued growth and increased sales across departments.
- Supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure financial goals are met.
- Monitors operational costs, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and contributes to strategies to improve profitability.
- Assists in coordinating and managing strategic projects and initiatives to ensure timely completion and alignment with company goals.
- Tracks project milestones and collaborates with team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assists in managing and developing department staff to ensure continued growth of the team.
- Provides guidance, performance feedback, and opportunities for professional growth to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Ensures safety and quality assurance processes are followed to meet regulatory and customer standards.
- Conducts periodic checks and reports any quality issues to maintain product integrity.
- Acts as a point of contact for customers and other stakeholders when the General Manager is unavailable to ensure a prompt customer service experience.
- Assists in other tasks as needed to meet business goals.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a lead /supervisor role. Experience in XLPE foam or a related foam/plastics manufacturing industry preferred.
- Certifications: N/a
- Functional Skills: Strong planning, prioritization, organizational, and executing skills are required in this role; lean thinking skillsets are also needed to enhance the operations; strong math and analytical skills required for budget management and project oversight; excellent forward-thinking and project management skills are also important. Foundational understanding of ISO/Quality Systems, Safety, Lean thinking, and 5S preferred.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ERP systems
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to work with all levels; Solid presentation and training skills needed.
- Leadership/ Behaviors: Strong collaboration and influencing skills to effectively implement change; strong positive behaviors and work ethic - leading by example; able to effectively problem-solve and make solid decisions; conceptual thinker who can continually make enhancements to overall operations. Excellent leadership and team-building skills to develop, mentor, empower, and hold others accountable to the goals of the operation. Ability to perform all duties in an independent manner.

Other Important Information:
Pay/Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.

Reports To: General Manager
Core Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Typical Work Week: M-F; some weekends [& OT] required (when applicable); 40 - 45 hours a week on average
Direct Reports: 150 Total Employees across 5 locations
Travel: Limited; 10% travel required for meetings, customer visits, and company events.
