The Assistant Director of Workforce Development will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of student engagement for Community Foodbank of New Jersey’s (CFBNJ) Workforce Development Programming. The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and implementing processes to best serve all students throughout their time in the Workforce Development programs. This role will also be responsible for managing staff and delivering strong support with Case Management responsibilities. You will collaborate with other community organizations, employers, and stakeholders to identify pathways to gainful employment for our clients.
What you’ll do in your role:
- Assist in the strategic planning and on-going implementation of workforce development programs.
- Monitor program effectiveness through data collection and analysis, and adjust services based on findings.
- Supervise and mentor workforce development staff to ensure effective program delivery.
- Support recruitment initiatives to attract participants to workforce development programs at CFBNJ.
- Work closely with the Director of Workforce Development to collaborate with external partners to enhance service delivery and resource availability.
- Support the Director in working closely with CFBNJ’s Development department to secure program funding, and Finance department in maintaining accurate programmatic financial accounting and delivering all required reports.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or human services, and/or experience working with adult students.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a strong leadership presence, program development and relationship building skills.
- Ability to influence, lead and direct individuals in multiple functional areas including community partners and employers.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse, underserved populations facing barriers to employment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret data and create reports.
