Description
Liberty Mutual has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director of Privacy to join the Global Risk Solutions data office team. This fast-paced role requires knowledge of global privacy laws, technology, data science, and excellent communication and project management skills. This position provides frequent opportunity to interface with Liberty employees at various levels across the Liberty organization, including close collaboration with the enterprise Global Privacy Team, data scientists and IT within the business unit to help drive privacy by design into our business unit through process and automation.
Successful candidates will have knowledge across process improvement, data governance, and data privacy disciplines, as well as familiarity with the needs of data analysts.
You will be required to go into the office twice a week if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Bala Cynwyd, PA; Boston, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL; or Weatogue, CT. Responsibilities:
- Implement and drive business unit privacy by design processes in close coordination with the Global Privacy Team , BU Partners, Product Owners, and Data Users.
- Help drive implementation of enterprise privacy and AI compliance initiatives within Global Risk Solutions. Partner to drive cross-team design and development of sustainable data driven solutions that meet the needs of the business customers while considering regulatory requirements.
- Lead evaluation, root cause analysis and problem-solving sessions to identify areas of opportunity across multiple areas and teams. Define methods to automate and strengthen data management controls for complex assignments and establish consistency and sustainability of data privacy and security practices across GRS.
- Be able to influence decision makers on the outcome of an initiative based on its perceived value. Partner with stakeholders to define metrics that are impactful for the business.
- Maintain close working relationships with data providers and partners, partnering with IT architects to design and develop solutions that meet technical and business requirements of projects.
- Defines the business case and engages in priority setting with input from stakeholders. Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources. Ensures project resources are optimally sourced and deployed.
- A portion of this role will be spent implementing the governance program vision, promoting the role of governance and enforcing policy, while following data governance best practices.
- Partner with Enterprise Responsible AI Team for Generative Artificial Intelligence related matters and guide divisions with Generative AI related advising.
- Represent GRS interests in Enterprise Privacy, Data Use and Ethics Councils.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience to include project management work and process improvement or equivalent
- Post-graduate degree and/or CIPP accreditation are highly preferred.
- 4+ years of privacy operations experience required, preferably with a multi-national financial services company.
- Expert-level ability in managing all aspects of the project management life cycle for multiple projects at one time to include those complex in nature.
- Strong ability to exercise influence and build consensus; communication skills; promote collaboration, teamwork and change initiatives; and to build value for customers through innovation and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of data protection and information security laws, rules, and regulations, as well as industry leading-practices and standards.
- Understanding of privacy enhancing technologies (consent management, incident management, cookie management, etc.).
- Familiarity with process management required.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
