Assistant Coordinator, Maintenance Services
Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing work direction to repair/maintenance and custodial team in regard to the maintenance of equipment and facilities. The Assistant Coordinator of Maintenance Services is responsible for supervising and providing work direction to the maintenance team and collaborating with the Assistant Coordinator, Facilities Operations, to establish and maintain preventive maintenance processes and procedures.
Responsibilities and tasks include: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing work direction to repair/maintenance and custodial team in regard to the maintenance of equipment and facilities. The Assistant Coordinator of Maintenance Services is responsible for supervising and providing work direction to the maintenance team and collaborating with the Assistant Coordinator, Facilities Operations, to establish and maintain preventive maintenance processes and procedures
Provide Strategic Leadership by:
- Aligning function with mission and core values of the organization.
- Developing and communicating shared vision for area of responsibility.
- Planning and executing continuous improvement processes for area of responsibility.
Provide Performance Leadership by:
- Developing staff and/or individual capacity to apply technical/functional expertise for maximum impact.
- Recommending for employment, and coordinating hiring for direct reports, in collaboration with immediate supervisor,
- Providing supervision to direct reports, including formative feedback and timely performance evaluations and/or demonstrating attention to quality enhancement by improving efficiencies and effectiveness in recordkeeping, workflow and compliance.
- Leading the work of others; delegating tasks and authority appropriately and/or establishing procedures to guide system and departmental work; monitoring and demonstrating effective decision-making strategies to meet project deadlines.
Demonstrate Management Skills by:
- Managing department resources effectively and efficiently, including monitoring maintenance team equipment purchases, reconciling expenditure accounts, and reporting accounts that are trending over budget to the coordinator.
- Provide input for capital replacement plan for HVAC, boiler, plumping and grounds equipment, including a recommendation for additional equipment that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our maintenance and grounds services.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
- Reviews and provide input on district standards based on current trends and products
- Inspecting and evaluates HVAC, boiler, chiller, and plumbing systems to ensure that they meet established district standards.
- Applying effective decision-making processes to problems or situations.
- Working with Building Engineers and Building Operation Supervisors on maintenance needs and training
- Working with mechanical and electrical contractors to request quotes, plan and schedule maintenance repair work
- Working with automated building controls and contractors to request quotes, plan and schedule maintenance repair work
- Evaluating facilities against facilities standards and providing prioritized suggestions for the 10-year facilities improvement plan.
- Working with the Facilities Operations team to identify, design, and implement critical preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
- Reviews work orders and assigns tasks based on priority and trade.
- Monitoring and evaluating PM follow through with regular inspections.
- Assessing PM performance gaps; identifying training needs; designing, delivering, and evaluating training

- Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned
Minimum qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of five years of experience in practical building operations and systems maintenance.
- Must have one of the following or similar job experiences: facility operations manager, maintenance supervisor, foreman, or lead maintenance.
- Chief Boilers license within two years, CPO within one year, EPA underground A/B tank certification within one year
Preferred qualifications include:
- Chief Boilers License preferred.
- Certified Pool Operator License preferred.
- CFC Refrigerate certification preferred.
Salary: $98,843 to $111,991 DOE

Work schedule: Full-time, 260 contract days annually
