JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our rapidly growing Accounting. As part of our Accounting Resource group, you will be a key member of a visible, accessible, and dedicated service team in a rewarding, high-energy work environment. You will share responsibility for supporting field and Service Center personnel, helping them to function at peak efficiency and work in compliance with applicable laws. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for managing daily accounting activities, preparing financial reports, assisting in audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. The Assistant Controller plays a key role in streamlining accounting processes and contributing to strategic financial planning.

Cornerstone is one of the most dynamic and progressive companies in the rapidly expanding home health, hospice, and home care industries. Affiliates of Cornerstone now operate close to 100 home health, hospice, and home care agencies across 13 states. Pinnacle is a leading independent and assisted living company, with approximately 50 senior living facilities operated by Pinnacle affiliates in 6 states. These operating companies have no corporate headquarters or traditional management hierarchy. Instead, they operate independently with support from the Pennant Service Center, a world-class service team that provides the centralized clinical, legal, risk management, HR, training, accounting, IT, and other resources and expertise necessary to allow local agency and community leaders and staff to focus squarely on day-to-day care and business issues in their operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Controller in managing all aspects of accounting operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure proper documentation of financial data.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by establishing and enforcing accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and analysis.
- Support the development and implementation of accounting systems and process improvements.
- Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred or working towards CPA certification.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with prior experience in management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage preferred).
- Experience with financial audits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
