A manufacturer in Middlesex County is looking for an Assistant Controller .

Responsibilities would include the following:

• Supervise Staff Accountants and Credit and Collections department
• Review all transactions and coding comply with company policies and procedures
• Review and approve invoices/commission/employee expenses/mail order refunds for payment
• Process/review/approve timecards and payroll
• Provide support to daily administration of employee benefits and employee data
• Handle insurance related issues (workers compensation, general liability and auto, etc.)
• Monitor overdue and collection accounts
• Research and resolve credit/collection/posting and all accounting related issues
• Prepare seasonal credit limit requests and special schedules related to credit insurance
• Resolve billing/chargeback and posting issues with customer services.
• Manage cash flow, bank/credit card reconciliations and handle banking activities
• Review/reconcile general ledger accounts and inter-company accounts
• Analyze/reconcile inventory transactions and variance reports
• Monitor monthly closing activities and prepare financial statements
• Analyze account balances, monthly expenses and project costs
• Prepare budget, forecasting, IFRS reporting package and transfer pricing reports
• Compare and monitor monthly/quarterly/yearly actual against the budget
• Communicate with managers for the actual/budget issues
• Maintain Kronos, ADP, Vertex and SAP FICO systems
• Implement new accounting and time control software
• Responsible for the sales and use tax returns and issues
• Prepare form 5500 filing
• Responsible for audits
• Coordinate and interface with Germany finance and IT department
• Prepare special projects related to management and Germany

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in accounting with 3 plus years of supervisory experience
• Experience in SAP FICO and ADP
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
