About the Job
A private investment management firm is seeking an Assistant Controller / Controller to join their Credit Fund Accounting team with a focus on the accounting for various Separately Managed Accounts "(SMAs)" and Co-Investment vehicles. This role may also expand to involvement on the traditional Private Credit funds as well.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Controller / Controller will be responsible for:
- Responsible for all aspects of accounting, reporting, expense management, and audit (as required) for all SMAs and Co-Invest vehicles
- Prepare supporting schedules to reconcile monthly/quarterly NAVs and waterfall with the administrator
- Prepare, review, and maintain performance calculations (ROR/IRR/MOIC/DPI)
- Work closely with the administrators to reconcile parallel books and records
- Prepare workpapers for monthly/quarterly reporting; including regulatory and risk reporting where applicable
- Assist with preparation of quarterly financial reporting and year-end audit reports
- Prepare supporting packages for capital call and distribution notices
- Liaise with Portfolio Managers, Investor Relations, Compliance and Operations on various entity management issues
- Participate in technology initiatives
- Complete ad hoc requests and projects from senior management and investors
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience with a mix between public and private; with a focus on credit and/or PE firms
- CPA required
- Waterfall experience
- Computer skills - advanced Excel skills required (e.g., pivot tables); technical and data management a big plus (e.g., Power BI, waterfall allocation tools, VPM etc.)
