We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our Accounting and Finance team. Our ideal candidate is a financial expert who is excited about managing all aspects of our daily accounting operations. You will play a critical role in maintaining our financial health and making sure we are compliant with all regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who wants to take their career to the next level in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
2. Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and other relevant laws and regulations.
3. Prepare and present forecasting reports, including cash flow forecasts, to help guide business decisions.
4. Coordinate the company's annual audit and liaise with external auditors.
5. Oversee the company's budgeting process, including the creation and review of annual budgets.
6. Monitor internal controls, manage all aspects of the general ledger, and supervise the accounting staff.
7. Collaborate with the Controller to maintain company accounting procedures and policies.
8. Assist in the development of financial strategic plans.
9. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
10. Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree such as an MBA or a professional certification like CPA is preferred.
2. A minimum of 7 years of proven accounting experience
3. Thorough knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and financial regulations.
4. Proficient in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data, along with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to foster a cohesive and creative work environment.
10. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically.
