We are currently seeking a highly motivated Assistant Construction Manager located in Portland, OR .
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in construction management and or Civil Engineering - Preferred but not required
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- 10+ years of Construction Management experience
- Significant Experience on Mega public infrastructure projects (Public Utilities, Transportation, Water, Civil).
- Demonstrated ability to manage large projects ($1B+) and hit the ground running
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including MS Project.
- Ability to learn new computer programs quickly. Current programs include SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam PDF software.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Goals are set for each project relating to the schedule, budget, safety, quality and working environment.
- Construction Manager should be pro-active planning and leadership to steer the projects to a successful completion for all stakeholders.
- This position works very closely with the project owner, project superintendents and project engineer.
- Ensure all work is in conformance with the contractual requirements.
- Verify all material incorporated into the project conforms to all submittals, project specifications and drawings.
- Understand and execute the required testing procedures in conformance with the contract documents and industry standards.
- Create/Prepare outgoing correspondence to the clients, subcontractors, and other outside entities, ensuring accuracy, quality and professionalism of work.
- Manage change order process with the project owner and trade partners, including identification, preparation and timely submittal of protests and requests for equitable adjustments or claims following vigorous efforts to negotiate reasonable resolutions to the issue
- Manage submittal and RFI processes including logs.
- Manage QA/QC process for project in partnership with the Project Superintendent
- Review all special inspection and material testing performed by third parties.
- Frequent verbal and written communication with general contractors, subcontractors, and/or owners representatives.
Salary:
- $62.00 - $66.00 per hour
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at managements discretion.
