Currently, they are looking to add an Assistant Buyer to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k – $75k
Position Overview:
As an Assistant Buyer, you will be a key member of a fast-paced, dynamic Buying team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to learn the fundamentals of merchandising, product selection, and retail analysis, all while working closely with an experienced Buyer.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Buyer:
- Support the Buying team with purchase orders, markdowns, and foundational merchant tasks.
- Analyze business data using retail math, monitor reports, and assist in sales and inventory projections.
- Develop vendor relationships through in-person meetings, follow up on shipments, and resolve issues.
- Learn to use merchandising systems and understand warehouse processes.
- Build product knowledge through shopping at stores and competitors, and communicate insights to the Buyer.
- Track merchandise receipt flow and update the Buyer on arrivals.
- Assist Buyers in preparing for key meetings, including report formatting and presentation support.
Qualifications for the Assistant Buyer:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and build relationships.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude toward feedback and change.
- Intellectually curious, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Resilient and persistent, focused on problem-solving and achieving goals.
- Proficient in retail math and analysis.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
