This 10-week paid Summer Internship Program has been developed for students to gain practical training and hands-on experience that will help them meet their educational goals and prepare them for their professional careers in real estate. When creating our Program, we carefully assessed what made an internship experience meaningful. Our goal is to provide you with a dynamic and engaging learning experience, and the opportunity to develop while having dedicated support around you.
Important Reminders:
- Our 10-week program begins June 2, 2025, and ends August 8, 2025.
- We encourage students who are graduating in May/June 2026 to apply.
- This is a full-time role based in our Santa Monica office.
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a motivated summer intern to join our Asset Management team, focusing on overseeing and optimizing a diverse affordable real estate portfolio. This internship provides hands-on experience in managing property performance, analyzing financial metrics, and supporting the strategic initiatives that drive property value and community impact.
Throughout your summer, you will assist Asset Managers by:
- Helping analyze our diverse real estate development portfolio to support investments performance in accordance with the business plan to meet or exceed expected returns.
- Assist with collecting, analyzing, and preparing data in the management of current assets.
- Help support the execution of the business’ vision and strategic plan.
- Assist team with conducting financial analysis and due diligence for current and potential projects.
- Help review and analyze property performance and assist with preparing reports for investors.
- Assist with the coordination of quarterly and other periodic reporting to ensure timely, accurate, consistent, and complete deliverables.
- Assist with any ad-hoc/special projects and tasks as needed.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
This role requires an individual who is comfortable in a finance driven role, where you provide analysis and mitigate risks.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
- General financial analysis and project management skills
- Entrepreneurial self-starter, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Intellectually curious with a strong bias to action.
- Results-oriented problem solver who lives our values.
- Interest in the affordable housing industry.
- Comfortable with other areas of Microsoft Suite, such PowerPoint and Word.
