Summary:
Assembly Technician is responsible for identifying, prepping, and assembling all production parts assigned. The Technician shall identify, prep, construct, aircraft assemblies, and parts, within estimated time and in accordance with applicable HCOA, and customer work instructions without deviation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide their internal customers with correct products and services, on-time.
- Create, communicate, and accomplish daily department schedules.
- Keep WOs and associated documentation with each part throughout the manufacturing process and providing documentation to their internal customer.
- Retain part traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Keep Cetec order location data current and correct.
- Properly utilize all sheet metal hand tools to facilitate completion of production parts and yield a quality assembly and or part, i.e., spring clecos, draw clecos, edge clecos, "C" clamps, all deburring tools but not limited to examples listed.
- Perform layout work, measuring, hole size Identification, hole location of all parts in preparation for assembly.
- Must be able to identify various types of fasteners to ensure proper installation and use.
- Perform high quality and airworthy work in accordance with the engineering instructions provided to them by the Production Manager and/or their Lead.
- Ensure work areas are clean and free from Foreign Object Debris.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Twelve months in precision sheet metal drill, press, and form environment.
- Ability to operate a drill press, band saw, belt sander and rivet press equipment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and adhere to technical data to include Blueprints/Mylar's.
- Microsoft Office Suite and data entry into ERP systems.
- Ability to follow established methods and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively and write clearly for documentation.
- Ability to perform close tolerance drilling to prepare for fastener installation.
Preferred:
- Ability to precisely operate pneumatic tools but not limited to palm drills, rivet guns, palm sanders, "C" squeeze.
- Knowledge of use of measuring equipment, i.e., calipers, scales, pin gauges, grip gauges.
Physical Demands/ ADA Compliance:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone and operate computer and mouse. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and bend and twist neck.
The employee may be required to successfully pass the HCOA Respirator Qualification program as an essential job duty due to exposure to particulates and fumes. Employees may be required to stand for a full shift while wearing full PPE in a heated environment. Must be able to lift up to 100lbs (ranges from 10lbs. to 100lbs.). Ability to pass DOT Drug Testing requirements (49 CFR Part 40).
$20 an hour
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm with overtime required. Monday through Friday. Onsite only.
Background and Drug test required.
