Description:
SUMMARY: This is a temporary assignment. Build high speed electric motors and sub-assemblies. Perform general production duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble components with interference fits using ovens to heat parts and hydraulic presses.
Basic electrical testing on components, subassemblies and assemblies.
Ability to strip, crimp and terminate wires.
Work with hand tools, epoxies, and adhesives to assemble electric motors according to work instructions/schematics.
Maintain a commitment to safety excellence.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-being.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position are below.
Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
Experience: Minimum of one year assembly experience in a light industrial setting is preferred. Experience working with mechanical parts preferred.
Language Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Skills Must be able to read, understand and follow assembly instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams. Must be able to use hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, calipers and others. Technician needs to be able to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training provided). Must be able to understand mechanical assembly.
Physical Demands: Must be able to be on feet all shift. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to use hands to assemble components. Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel. Must be able to work with various epoxies without allergic reaction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this position, technician will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. While all reasonable safety procedures are used, technician has to be comfortable in this environment. Employee will also be exposed to adhesive fumes, airborne particles and heat. While the work area is normally clean, safe and not loud there are machines making parts so some noise and metal flakes can be expected.
