Position Overview:The Architectural Sales Rep effectively promotes strategic products to Architects, Builders, Landscape Architects, General Contractors and End Users, with the ultimate intention of gaining a confirmed project specification and generating sales. He/she develops selling relationships required to exceed both company and personal sales goals.
What you’ll do:
Planning:
- Creates written daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity plans within Salesforce that exceed sales and profit goals.
- Schedules weekly activity plans and has activities scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
- Reviews activity on a monthly basis with Manager.
Brand Building and Market Share:
- Performs at least 16 product/CEU luncheons or similar events per year.
- Maintains a current list of products sampled for each customer.
- Maintains customer libraries in clean, organized manner with architectural tools properly labeled.
- Presents our full line of products daily to end users.
- Builds customer relationships through company events intended to drive customer loyalty
Prospecting:
- Identifies, plans and tracks activity for 10 new prospects per quarter.
- Makes appropriate new sales calls and tracks activity on new prospecting customers, securing appointments with decision making individuals. All within Salesforce.
Analyzing Needs:
- Understands the customer and identifies their potential needs before making sales calls.
- Clearly communicates the advantages of our company’s products and services over the competitors in a professional manner.
- Has a complete understanding of the products available, knows how to position price, knows associated lead times, and methods of procuring.
Performance:
- Is available and responds in a timely manner to tasks necessary to service the account. This includes technical data, sample requests, quotations and availability questions.
- Exceeds sales goals and drives opportunities through Design Center.
- Responsible for expanding relationships with Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, General Contractors, Builders, and End Users.
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
- Understands the customer and identifies their potential needs before making sales calls.
General Sales & Management:
- Attends sales meetings and makes a positive contribution as requirements dictate.
- Offers new ideas for products and sales strategies to management.
- Identifies, maintains and actively participates in a minimum of one membership in local industry-based networking group as determined for the respective territory.
- Build out of opportunity pipeline within Salesforce. Utilizing programs like Dodge Construction Network for additional prospecting.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a strategic business-to-business sales environment, preferably in the building materials market.
- Established relationships with key role players in the relevant industry.
- Negotiation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills along with ability to present for continuing education credits.
- Closer with highly competitive drive to exceed sales goals.
- Intermediate/advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, PowerPoint & Salesforce)
- Willingness to travel
- Candidates must reside in the Atlanta, GA area
