Job Title: Architectural Coordinator I
Position Overview:
The Architectural Coordinator I serves as a vital connection between the design team, the owner, and the contractor, providing administrative support for construction projects of varying size and complexity. This role offers the opportunity to assist senior staff on larger projects while independently managing construction administration services for smaller assignments. Responsibilities include jobsite visits, submittal reviews, responding to RFIs, reviewing pay applications, and overseeing project closeout. The role requires collaboration with project managers, architects, consultants, and technical personnel to ensure adherence to contract documents and to facilitate changes during construction.

Key Responsibilities:
Construction Administration:
- Manage construction contracts in accordance with executed agreements and project manuals.
- Conduct field observations, attend OAC meetings, and perform construction observation activities.
- Review and act on submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, and pay applications.
- Support project closeout, including punch list creation, final payment reviews, and preparation of certificates of substantial completion.
- Coordinate proposal requests and ensure project activities align with firm policies.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and the design team.
- Consult with senior staff for guidance when needed and keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
Design and Documentation Support:
- Participate in design and production meetings.
- Review drawings and specifications for quality, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure adherence to internal quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Support and Administration:
- Assist with proposals and contracts, including scope determination, fee estimating, and scheduling.
- Provide feedback on construction cost estimates, change orders, and schedules.
- Gain proficiency in project management systems and engage in continuous learning opportunities.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of architectural systems, construction methods, and sustainability practices.
- Proficiency in software such as Bluebeam, MS Office, and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or Procore.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Frequent sedentary office work and on-site construction visits.
- Physical activities include walking, stooping, crouching, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Regular exposure to loud construction environments and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays, depending on project needs.
