OVERVIEW
The Accounting Department at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business (OCB) invites applications for our adjunct faculty pool. We use the adjunct faculty pool to staff classes as openings arise. Our typical adjunct teaching needs include introductory courses in financial and managerial accounting. Occasionally, we need adjunct faculty to teach courses in intermediate, audit, tax or cost accounting.
This posting is for a pooled, adjunct faculty position for continuous recruitment. Review of candidates is typically done three times annually – spring, summer and fall.

The Accounting Department offers a well-regarded undergraduate major in accounting and supports the college’s undergraduate and graduate programs with core and elective courses. Adjunct faculty are expected to have a strong understanding of the accounting content for their course, relevant professional experience, as well as excellent communication and teaching skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications include:
- a master’s degree in Accounting or Tax, M.B.A., or master’s degree in a closely related field (U.S. or foreign equivalent) preferred.
- Bachelors degree with extensive experience will be considered
- the CPA license;
- prior experience or demonstrated ability to communicate and teach in an educational institution or corporate/executive setting; and
- significant experience working in the area of accounting. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.
