About the Job
Job Duties
- Inspects the work area to determine obstructions to be avoided for the installation of the pipe
- Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install or de-install piping systems
- Study blueprints, and isometric drawings, understand 3D Models, Layout, and construction plans for pipe systems, supports, and related equipment
- Install, inspect, and test systems and equipment
- Understand welding process
- Capable of passing 6G welding coupon for any of the following (ASME IX orbital GTAW, ASME IX GMAW, or ASME IX GTAW)
- Repair and replace damaged pipe components.
- Use hand or power tools
- Select pipe types, sizes, and quantities required for a project
- Read, understand, and draw isometric/shop drawings for fabrication
- Mentoring apprentice-level pipefitters and helpers
- Knowledge of rigging
- Test pipe system to ensure no leaks
- Work with QA/QC for a final inspection
- Other duties as assigned
- Employees may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), on weekends and will be compensated based on the Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years industry experience.
- Able to install work from drawings, submittals and specifications
- Able to read and understand project related documents in the English language.
- Knowledge of basic construction/shop math (addition, subtraction, division, fraction, and multiplication).
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Ability to make decisions based on information at hand.
- Work easily and skillfully with hands.
- Maintain a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with coworkers other tradesmen.
