Application Services Team Lead
The Application Services Team Lead will assist management in directing and monitoring the work, training, and quality results of a team of Software Systems Engineers. The Application Services Team Lead provides technical oversight, project management for smaller efforts and management support of project and operational activities. The Application Services Team Lead promotes alignment with key stakeholders and ensures the team provides excellent business partner support. The Application Services Team Lead will also provides mentoring and leadership within the Software Systems Engineering team.
Managerial Support: Assist manager with the day-to-day coaching, feedback, reporting, performance evaluation and assignment of work priorities/workloads for team members
In alignment with management, evaluates workloads and priorities and assigns appropriate resources to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of department products and services
Leads smaller work efforts that do not require a project management resource
Supports manager in driving execution of tactical work supporting project and operational work
Monitors, coaches, and recommends additional training solutions for team members to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to be effective in role
Performs quality checks on job functions and individual outputs as well as provides input into the development of performance management documentation
Assists management in the selection, development, and retention of qualified technical staff
Delivery: Accountable for team alignment specific to delivery and readiness
Maintains clarity of work prioritization
Ensures work is broken down into manageable units and tracked
Identifies and remediates barriers to delivery
Accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects & work products
Participates in supporting business partner adoption strategy for technology solutions
Alignment and Communication: Works across the organization to facilitate communications, expectations, and dependencies
In conjunction with management, ensures alignment with stakeholders specific to requirements and downstream impact of various work activities
Ensures alignment with partners in Project Management, Infrastructure, Network, QA, Application Support, Database Administration, Service Management and Security relative to work priority and resource
Technical Support: Provide support of application service request and operations support.
Systems Management: Oversees the management of monitoring and analyzing the performance of technology solutions to ensure functionality and effectiveness of assigned systems, applications, and programs.
Operations Support: Ensures operation level agreements are developed; non-standard requests are prioritized appropriately against existing team commitments and supports the coordination and remediation of incidents impacting department services. Recommend opportunities to automate processes wherever logical and reasonable.
Technical leadership: Ensure execution of work regarding scope and quality is properly aligned with the strategic and architectural directions and supports the development of department and business unit¿s technical roadmaps and budget planning.
Lifecycle Management: Coordinate lifecycle management of Enterprise Information Technology owned technologies.
Project Management: Participate in cross function
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor¿s degree, preferably in computer science or related field, or a combination of education and work experience that provides the necessary skills to perform the essential job functions
+ Five (5) years of proven work experience in Technical Support, Development, or Engineering
+ Very strong knowledge of personal computer software and hardware, particularly Windows 10, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office product suite
+ Strong sense of urgency
+ Ability to lead highly technical teams
+ Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
+ Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with minimum supervision. Requires exceptional organizational skills, problem solving skills, and flexibility in changing priorities
+ Be a team player with the ability to share knowledge and develop colleagues for the overall benefit of the team and organization
+ A general understanding of project management principles and the ability to oversee multiple, concurrent projects
+ Working knowledge of a variety or programming concepts, practices and procedures as well as a fundamental knowledge of development discipline and principles
+ Ability to balance and track team work between multiple on-going efforts including projects
Desired:
+ Previous experience leading teams or coordinating work
+ Clear understanding of a Software Development Lifecycle
+ Tools such as Jira, assystME, MS Project
+ Experience, education, or certification in service management (ITSM and ITIL)
+ Project Management overseeing multiple, concurrent projects. PMP Certification
Experience working in the utility sector
