What You'll Do:
- Oversee daily operations of the Best Buddy Center, supervising a team of around 20 employees, including adoption counselors, front desk personnel, and exam room staff.
- Mentor two supervisors who assist with facility management.
- Interview, hire, motivate, and counsel staff to provide for their professional growth and to maximize their potential.
- Work closely with veterinarians and animal behavior staff to ensure the best care for animals.
- Give regular feedback to employees, including annual performance appraisals or disciplinary action as needed.
- Keep employees safe by training them to recognize animal behavior and ensuring the employees are following safety procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a positive, safe work environment.
- Manage budgets, resolve complaints, and continuously suggest operational improvements.
Who We're Looking For:
- Someone who loves animals and enjoys working with people.
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of supervisory experience in an animal-related facility (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and inventory/time-keeping systems. Familiarity with Chameleon is a plus.
- Working knowledge of animal behavior and proper restraint procedures.
