Animal Program Assistant from Tri-Starr Talent

The Animal Program Assistant supports by providing animal-related information, customer assistance, and maintaining accurate records. Working directly with the public and animals, this role ensures humane handling, helps customers navigate various services, and supports the shelter's mission of providing a safe and sanitary environment with the compassion to help animals find their forever home.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Interact with customers in person, via email, or phone to answer inquiries about animals, programs and services.
• Assists customer in finding owned, adaptable, or transferable animals at events or clinic.
• Accurately updates and maintains all necessary records in the database.
• Performs cashiering functions, manages routine administrative tasks, an fulfills additional responsibilities as needed.
• Safely and humanely manages animals during intake, enrichment activities, and promotional events. Adheres to guidelines and procedures for all animal handling tasks.
• Cleans kennels and surrounding areas to maintain a clean, sanitary environment for both animals and guests.
• Feed animals as scheduled and ensures water is available at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited school
• Basic computer skills
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
• Knowledge of humane animal handling, housing, care and feeding procedures.
• Ability to work a FLEXABLE and ROTATING schedule to include weekends.
• Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position.
