Job Description
As an Analyst, you will have a central role on our team by using data-driven efforts to support artist discovery & promotion strategy, to generate daily/weekly reporting, and to improve the label's understanding of music consumption.
What you'll do:
- Conduct research to evaluate new music and other entertainment IP and improve the organization's understanding of new music metrics
- Collect, prepare, and explore a variety of music data, and construct new methods to draw insights from this data
- Develop and test statistical and predictive models to support artist discovery and promotion strategy
- Communicate closely with (company name) wider analytics team in the gathering and application of music insights
- Develop and implement new analytical processes and/or technologies
- Handle ad hoc reporting requests as needed
Who you are:
- You are passionate about new music discovery and data
- Have interest in and knowledge of music that Masterworks specializes in (instrumental, classical and classical crossover, film & TV soundtracks, Broadway, jazz)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a data-related field (statistics, computer science, engineering, applied math, physics, quantitative social sciences, or similar field)
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL as well as data visualization (Tableau) and Alteryx
- Knowledge of R or Python is a plus
- You are proficient with music discovery platforms (e.g. TikTok/Spotify/Apple/Amazon/YouTube).
- Ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
