AAU is seeking an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Nurse Manager to lead our outpatient surgery centers located in Annapolis and Greenbelt. The ASC Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical facility and ensuring that all clinical and operational objectives are achieved and ensuring best practices are achieved and strategic goals are met. This includes upholding the standards in accordance with all State and Federal regulations, AAAHC accreditation standards, OSHA, and the Centers’ policies and procedures. From time to time, you may be required to assist in procedures. This position is responsible for all clinical, administrative, and business office operations. In addition, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the administration and supervision of all ASC personnel and is accountable to the Medical Director for coordination of all medical care given and all related supporting services of the ambulatory surgical center and its personnel.

- Manages day-to-day operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
- Ensures proper and efficient surgical flow. Works with providers and staff to develop and implement standard operating procedures for departments.
- Identifies and recommends procedural changes and solutions practice-wide.
- Ensures key performance indicators are met.
- Meets with the COO and Medical Director on a regular basis to provide recommendations, reporting, and insights.
- Develops insights and recommendations based on supported data and analytics to drive optimal clinical and surgical performance.
- Responsible for credential of physicians and clinical competencies for staff.
- Conducts quarterly manager meetings.
- Develops, implements, and oversees plans for cost-effective operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher
- Current RN license in the state of Maryland is required.
- Minimum of three years of previous leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center or Surgical Setting required.
- Strong knowledge of CMS, State, Federal, and Accrediting Body regulations (AAAHC) requirements as well as OSHA standards is necessary.
- Implement and maintain all aspects of Environment of Care requirements for patient safety and NFPA 101: Life Safety Code
- Direct, monitor, and evaluate activities to ensure professional medical/nursing care for each patient and delegate responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Evaluate facility programs and committee activities, including but not limited to Quality Management Improvement, Risk Management, Safety, and Infection Control.
- Monitor/review performance evaluations of all employees.
- Certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS/ACLS) is preferred.
- Perform other administrative duties as delegated or assigned.
